A Creative Photography Work

I like black and white photos more than the color. I think black and white photos are forcing people pay attentions on the theme of the photography. In a black and white photography, the object's expression and composition of a photo are becoming more important than the color one.

I talked with my photography mentor Hubert Ye-hua about the ideas of this creative work. He help me to combine these ideas together and gave me some really useful advises. I am so appreciate for that.

Have a look and enjoy!

Green Living - Low Carbon Life

As I said Before, it is really difficult to find a green maple leaf in winter Toronto.

I was looking for a perfect leaf in a supermarket, and I finally find one after 30 minutes.

Then I was working with Katherine in the studio for 1 hours on this project.

For the in studio shooting. I used 1 Light and 1 reflection board to photo the leaf. This lighting system could shows the object’s texture and I learned it form first semester. Because of the the leaf’s texture is to shallow, the ratio between the light and reflection board is 5:1.

I also used grey card and LCC to get right color of it. The aperture was F16 and Shutter speed was 1/125. ISO100.

Then I found a Toronto Skyline photo in my hard drive which took the shoot in Summer.

Finally, I combine these works in photoshop and make a production.
